AWS reinvent is taking place in Las Vegas this year and as you might know its the biggest cloud event in the world. It is jam packed by people from all over the world travelling for 2500+ live sessions during a week’s time.
AWS reinvent is a learning conference hosted by Amazon Web Services for the global cloud computing community. We datashark Academy team is at the event this year and will try to cover as many key notes announcements, trainings, workshops as possible.
The reinvent event will feature keynote announcements, training and certification opportunities, access to more than 2,500 technical sessions, a partner expo, after-hours events, and so much more.
There are close to 60k people flying this week to attend AWS reinvent.

The AWS re:invent is taking place in Las Vegas during 2-6th Dec’2019.
How much does AWS ReInvent Cost
To register for one or more bootcamps, you must first register for aws reInvent. In addition to the cost of the re:Invent conference pass, each bootcamp costs $225–$600.

Get Your Badge
First thing first, in order to attend sessions you need to first register here and then get your badge.
You have to be in Las Vegas to get your badge. There are many locations to get your badge and Amazon has made it really simple for all attendees.
I personally found that getting the badge at airport is the easiest way since you are already there, lines are short and you can avoid walking (a lot of it) if done at hotels.
So, my personal recommendation is to get your badge at the airport itself.
Look for AWS helpers in yellow t-shirts with printed AWS reinvent logo. You won’t miss them. They can assist you to locate registeration desks for badges.
Get your Hoodie & Water Bottle
Next item on your list should be to get AWS reinvent hoodie and a water bottle. These are complimentary and free of cost to anyone registered for the event.
Unfortunately, you can’t get them at the airport.
You need to go to the Venetian at 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 and then follow the signs or ask AWS reinvent helpers to guide your way to registration desk. We have recorded a video (embedded above in this post) of registration desk that you should check before picking your hoodie, to just get familiar with what to expect.

This is super helpful app to remind you of upcoming sessions you have enrolled into and also other important updates.
I highly recommend you to download it from your phone’s app store. The app is called – AWS Events
AWS Reinvent Schedule
With over 2500+ sessions planned, it can be over-whelming to keep track of all. So, the best approach is to visit aws reinvent schedule and find the sessions which interest you.
Once you short list couple of times, go to your account page, open session catalog and reserve a seat for those sessions you are interested in.
From our own experience, we found that seats are gone way faster than you can imagine, so it’s better to reserve a seat as soon as you can.
If you can’t reserve a seat for a session because all seats are already taken, then you can add yourself in waiting list. When a seat is available, you will be assigned a seat. If not, then you can still try your luck and go to the event.
We have seen that although people reserve seats but not all of them can make it to the event on time. This gives you an opportunity to get into the event.

AWS has hired lots of helpers to assist you get into an event in case you are on waiting list.
One important thing to keep in mind is that your AWS ID cards are scanned at each event so if you are in waiting list or just walking in, you might not be allowed until all participants who have reservation and are standing at the door are attended.
How to travel between sessions
You can use shuttle services exclusively offered by AWS reinvent. These shuttles are available from all major event locations such as Bellagio, Aria, MGM, Venetian, Mirage etc.
You can look up for shuttle schedules at respective venues. There are big display screens with active schedules on them or ask AWS helpers at the venue.
